Brandon Bush (He/They) is an unapologetically Black Queer writer and DE&I professional with a deep passion for comics and nurturing spaces of belonging, creativity, authenticity, and fun.He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Howard University with a B.A. in Strategic Communication, concentrating in Organization Communication and minoring in Political Science. In his undergraduate journey, Brandon developed his skills in organizational leadership and management, creative direction, event planning, digital and social media management, and LGBTQ+ advocacy by participating in on-campus organizations like CASCADE, Howard University Student Association Senate, and more. He is currently continuing his studies at American University, pursuing an M.A. in Strategic Communication, concentrating in Advocacy and Social Impact.For over 3 years, Brandon worked full-time for an award-winning creative advertising agency, PureRed as a Copywriter and DE&I Coordinator. In this position, he gained certification from Penn State University Abington in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging, using it to help plan DEI initiatives and lead monthly educational discussions/presentations on social, political and cultural topics to help foster a culture of empathy, acceptance and togetherness. He also wrote and edited short and long-form content for internal use and various clients like Microsoft 365, ECO STYLE, Xbox, and more. He wrote several articles combining politics and comic book-related media for SYFY WIRE, Geeks of Color, and 101 Magazine and has been mentioned in The Washington Post and Adweek.Overall, Brandon longs to use his skills, talents, and passions to advocate for Black and Brown LGBTQ+ communities through digital media and creative storytelling to empower effective and tangible change.
