It’s one thing to be able to call yourself an engineer or designer for a project. But I believe it is way more satisfying to teach and share your knowledge with others wanting to follow your footsteps. Collaboratively sharing your skills and experience with others, to find ways to improve upon the past, or help leverage a persons knowledge for the future is what drives me. I am a firm believer that we get better by collaborating and sharing ideas. I mean that’s the principle of education right? I also have to say don’t forget to enjoy what you do otherwise that job isn’t for you. If you are not getting challenged by the things you do, then you are not taking on the risk necessary to grow your skill set. Take on challenges and always be prepared to grow your knowledge, especially when you don’t have an immediate answer. When I get asked, what is the best advise I could give them. I would say do the thing your most passionate about and be humble, while also being a team player no matter what the situation is. I don’t want to be a -1 or +1 for the team, just a 0 that helps solve problems to the best of my abilities.If you follow these guidelines you just might have the opportunity to program multiple million dollar animated figures, safely control or launch ride vehicles at various velocities, coordinate complex show sequences with high precision and reliability, all to provide entertainment and enjoyment for others.Just as a side note, working in this industry may often mean you are the one up till midnight or later but if you can tolerate it from time to time. The sense of accomplishment and honor is usually pretty fulfilling and well worth it in the end!
