Board Game DesignerFantasy Flight Games Feb 2017 - Dec 2021Roseville, MnAs a board game developer with Fantasy Flight Games, I worked to develop a variety of products at various stages of life, both expanding long-running lines and helping to refine and shape brand new games. I focused particularly on app-driven, scenario-based games.I was one of the scenario designers on Descent: Legends of the Dark, a critically-acclaimed narrative adventure game. On Descent I created memorable, unique situations and scenarios, helped develop and refine the campaign narrative, and made significant contributions to building the world and future narrative for subsequent Descent products. Several of my scenarios have proven to be among the game's most stand-out and memorable. As part of the development team on Lord of the Rings: Journeys in Middle-earth, I wrote and designed numerous adventures in Unity for players to experience via the Journeys in Middle-earth companion app. In particular, I was the primary developer on the first downloadable campaign, The Hunt for the Ember Crown, which has earned a reputation for introducing novel and interesting mechanics into the game that push the boundaries of what the game could do. This also involved a significant amount of text writing for branching, choice-driven narrative content.I also helped develop several board-and-card games, including the Star Wars: Imperial Assault - Tyrants of Lothal expansion. I was the primary content developer on a few titles, including Heroes of Terrinoth, a cooperative dungeon-delving card game designed by Adam and Brady Sadler, and as designer on an unannounced game. Through all my work, I gained a reputation for creating interesting mechanics that helped to tell the games' stories, well-suited to FFG's brand of highly thematic products. When time allowed, I also made numerous small contributions to roleplaying game products, particularly in the Star Wars: Force & Destiny line. -
