Over the past five years, I have held key design and R&D positions across various industries. Creating designs for new products using Fusion 360, while keeping in mind the constraints of injection moulding. Developing and presenting prototypes using 3D printed parts, custom/modified circuitry, and repurposed materials. Turning brainstormed concepts and idealised visuals into functioning mechanisms and products. Performing rigorous testing related to new products including solvent effectiveness, torque requirements, and growth of bacterial colonies in our lab, to name a few. Using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to modify and develop packaging, labels, etc.

Lead the mechanical design of the new generation of VO2 Master Health Sensors’ flagship product, the VO2 Master Pro VO2 Analyzer V1.4, to improve measurement accuracy and resilience to breath condensation. Development of the mechanical design for an up-and-coming generation of VO2 Analyser with changeable, air-tight cartridges and many additional components, features, and design improvements. Modelled parts and assemblies using Solidworks, 3D printed parts, and scrutinised designs and test flow mechanics. Brainstormed with team, designed prototypes, conducted tests on a simulator or person, performed data analysis, re-designed, and wrote reports. Investigated design issues and determined root causes of faults and erroneous readings. Wrote and implemented manufacturing and QA procedures to ensure products are within specifications. Worked with the electrical engineering department to design and tune a PI controller for micro-flow pump. Aided in the design of PCBs by discussing electrical issues, determining general layouts, and sourcing components.

Conducted research sponsored by ElectroMotion Energy into the optimal control of micro-combined heat and power (micro-CHP) systems alongside other energy resources. Designed a Python software to run on a low-power Linux computer to optimally control a micro-CHP within a residential home along with solar panels, energy storage, and thermal storage, optimising for cost. Designed LSTM and CNN-based neural networks for energy load forecasting in the aforementioned software. Wrote chapters titled RNNs and Autoencoders for a prospective textbook titled “Applied Machine Learning”. Completed the following Master’s degree courses: Digital Control, Autonomous Vehicles, Design of Experiments, Machine Learning, Technical Writing, and Internet-of-Things.
