Many scientists have a passion for their selected field, studying and researching for the sake of learning. Other scientists possess an unmatchable work ethic to see through the research they began, working countless hours above the minimum. Some scientists show an ability to work exceptionally within a team, as well as independently. And a select few exhibit the former three. I am one of the select few.Aspiring to work in industrial medical research with a focus in disease treatment and prevention, I’m patient driven with a love for learning.Through my industrial and academic research experience, I have honed a variety of technical skills that compliment my motivation, adaptability, and creativity. Obtaining a bachelor’s degree for biology at the prestigious Saint Anselm College, I took part in rigorous courses where I showcased my skill set to earn a place on the Dean’s List four times while maintaining my presidential scholarship. Beyond this, I aided in COVID prevention measures during the pandemic through my specialized research, where I tested the effectiveness of several disinfectants to see which would keep our campus healthy and safe.My industrial experience at DEKA Research & Development allowed me to put all of my strengths into practice, as I held a wide variety of responsibilities. As I independently maintained a BSL-2 lab and all of its equipment, while working jointly in a small team to write up, prepare, execute, and analyze microbiological tests, my contribution had saved our company thousands of dollars. Moreover, my love of going above and beyond by working past standard hours has allowed our team to meet numerous deadlines that would have not been met otherwise.Currently, I am pursuing my masters of science in biotechnology at the University of New Hampshire in Manchester to learn and master the skills needed to output high quality results in the industrial setting.With a passion for research of diseases, I’m seeking a position in an industrial setting to help a team of professionals maintain their laboratory, execute tests and procedures, and brainstorm next steps through my abilities to think critically and creatively.If you are searching for a hard working individual, please don’t hesitate to email brandonsmith5483@gmail.com or call (603)867-7155.
