I'm the Director of Data Engineering for Instructure. I'm new to the role and I'm striving to use my perspective paired with team knowledge to add value to Instructure. This looks like researching, conversing, architecting, and implementing scalable agnostic solutions. I've taken on the likes of many technologies in order to create the foundational layers of a data mesh for Instructure. It's been a growth experience. There is no comfort in the growth zone and no growth in the comfort zone. The intentional transition over my career from an individual contributor to a leader has taken a paradigm shift in thinking. It requires a change in perspective and focus, of which excites me. The ability the learn, unlearn, and relearn has been critical in accomplishing this.I have a BS in Accounting from Utah Valley University and finished an MBA from the University of Utah with a focus in organizational behavior, but honestly, I'm a lifelong learner. I've taken courses from Udacity to Coursera and everything in between to better understand statistics, analytics, marketing, and programming since my undergrad.I’m always interested in hearing from former colleagues, managers, or just someone with a different perspective, so feel free to contact me if you’d like to connect.
