Oversee the Banking Section including the Banking Operations Unit and the Bank Reconciliation Unit. The Banking Section serves as the bank for all state agencies, universities, and community colleges. It is responsible for monitoring and reporting cash flow numbers to the Investment Management Division as well as monitoring the collateralization of public deposits. All funds belonging to the State statutorily are held in accounts in the name of the Department of State Treasurer which are managed by the Banking Section. Responsible for high-level management of all day to day operating functions and projects. Directly responsible for the creation and implementation of an external banking leadership plan which includes: building and maintaining relationships with high-level representatives of the North Carolina Bankers Association, North Carolina Office of the Commissioner of Banks, over 30 partner banks, and other organizations as needed. Responsible for staying abreast of potential legislation that might affect banking in North Carolina or State banking operations. Represent the Department of State Treasurer at meetings/events with a banking or economic development focus. Brief the Treasurer on matters related to banking. Responsible for three direct reports and 14 indirect reports.

Provide guidance to business owners concerning financial solutions designed to increase efficiences and/or decrease costs. Represent First Citizens in the community by active participation in community groups and boards.
