I worked with veterans who served during or after 09/11/2001, helping them become job ready and assisting them in navigating through the process of finding employment. I also worked to help them increase their money management skills.I was also responsible for producing 20 videos for the grantee's 'Homefront Chats' on YouTube - veterans talking about their experiences trying to start civilian careers. The project was completed one month ahead of time. Additionally, I wrote and taught a class offered once a week - "How to Build a Budget" - which taught students the basics of a building a budget that works. In late 2005, I was included in large group of employees offered severance packages, and retired after 27 years at the same firm. • Assisted with writing group communiques and email broadcasts.• Designed and implemented internal and external group websites for Texas project managers and clients.• Designed and implemented intranet portal for all technology project managers worldwide.• Migrated portal from stand-alone to an all-technology portal. • Prepared flowcharts and Powerpoint presentations for executive managers.• Given responsibility for organizing and managing IBM's timekeeping function for project managers. I was asked to fill a position that became open when the employee left the bank. This involved using a variety of programming tools to extract data from the banking system's masterfiles. The work was done on a project basis, and was tailored to individual in-house clients. During the 15 years I held this position, it was moved from one functional to another several times, as a result of re-organizations.• Examples: identifying zero balance and dormant accounts for escheatment; identifying maturing loans and CD's; creating mass transactions to correct interest rate errors; identifying customers for particular sales promotions.• When some requests were needed on a regular basis, I learned how to set them up in the production environment, to run automatically. This included writing on-line documentation of the programs, and instructions to be followed if the program ended abnormally.• In 1992, I was granted production access from my home computer, and could respond quickly to any issues that arose. • As the function expanded, two more specialists were hired. I designed and implemented a database to record all requests. This allowed us to identify and modify similar programs, rather than starting from each new project from scratch. • Database was eventually expanded to prepare status reports, record labor, and produce invoice data monthly. • Expanded our cost center and bank officer tables to include descriptions, full names and financial ledger hierarchy.• Chosen to design and implement a 'Surf Shop', to introduce technology employees to the Internet.• Learned how to extract data from Customer Information System, and create reports of customers' full banking relationships.• Member of the Millenium Crisis Center, which was formed to handle any change of century problems.• Assisted conversion team when particular Harlingen branch relationships was sold, by providing customer data and then conversion cassettes.
