Led company through multiple funding rounds ($7MM+) & technology iterations for its ConnecTV & NetVision systems & co-authored several patents while closing the first $5MM in sales. In building this interactive television (iTV) pioneer, we designed and manufactured the first Intel based set-top devices, which were operated by the QNX Neutrino real-time embedded OS with UX built from the Spyglass browser. As the Internet was just starting to take-off, we put the ‘net on your TV, with both dial-up and broadcast/cable connectivity, with a return-path integrating our proprietary 218MHz-219MHz IVDS (interactive voice and data services) wireless technology. Among our patents applied for: wireless radios, credit card scanning remote control with ‘AirMouse’ technology, the first of its kind non-linear e-commerce ready remote device. We designed, built and operated all applications for content and commerce. Our data center in Columbia, MD provided interactive applications to trials in Columbus, OH, Indianapolis, IN, Columbia and Baltimore, MD, among others. Partners included top set-top manufacturers, cable companies, major broadcast networks, programmers and early Internet leaders in search, commerce and content.
