Supporting adults with mental health challenges in a "group home" setting. Providing active listening, emotional support, understanding, and helping advocate legislation while representing EI during state wide meetings.

AMH believes that developing, funding and supporting peer delivered services (PDS) follows a national trend that is proving to be a key component of a successful service delivery system and an important addition to the health care workforce. AMH recognizes the indisputable value of PDS in transforming the mental health and addiction service delivery system that is based on a recovery model. AMH will work with service population stakeholder groups to develop strategies to increase the use and availability of PDS. The focused investment in this initiative is an investment in the future, an investment in the workforce, and an investment that will demonstrate significant results in transforming and redesigning the service delivery system in the development of new policies, procedures, and partnerships within the state and across the nation.

NAMI Connection is a weekly recovery support group for people living with mental illness in which people learn from each others’ experiences, share coping strategies, and offer each other encouragement and understanding.

Was formed for the purpose of facilitating understanding and support among stakeholders on how Youth Suicide Prevention Services, supported with funds provided under the Garrett Lee Smith Memorial Act, will be delivered in our County and to address potential barriers to delivery of the services.

The Planning Committee is comprised of community members who bring their knowledge and expertise to improve the AMHI. The Planning Committee will provide a structured manner to gather and disseminate information between AMH and partners about the AMH Transformation Adult Mental Health Initiative. The advice provided by the Planning Committee members is critical to the success of the AMHI project.

Oregon Oregon Consumer/Survivor Coalition -- unites more than a dozen groups in Oregon run by mental health consumers and psychiatric survivors.

The Commission is charged by state statute to advise the Board of County Commissioners on local children, youth and family policies, issues, needs and solutions. The Commission also provides a wealth and variety of expertise among its volunteer members. They include professionals (working on behalf of children and families), lay people (those who do not get paid for their work involving children and families), and youth (ages 14-24). They help focus discussions, raise issues and brainstorm solutions to promote the health and wellness of all Lane County’s children, youth and families.

Advises County Commissioners as the local mental health authority, and the H&HS Director on community needs and priorities for mental health services and alcohol and drug abuse prevention and treatment services.

Advises the Board of County Commissioners and the Director of Health and Human Services on the community needs and priorities for mental health services; utilizes program information to understand and identify servicing delivery gaps; develops recommendations to address and improve the mental health service system; facilitates communication among mental health community partners and promotes new pilot projects to enhance the mental health delivery system.

Advises the Oregon Addictions and Mental Health Division (AMH). I help advise the AMH on mental health policies and programs for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults, facilitate effective cooperative working relationships among the components of the mental health system, make recommendations regarding the identification, development and utilization of resources, identify problems and develop recommendations for resolution, and serve as the Planning Council for purposes of monitoring, reviewing and evaluating the federally mandated state plan for mental health services.

is a group of advocates pushing for people to have a say in their mental health treatment.

A lot of my work as a youth advocate is sitting on many committee's, board's, and councils for the county and state around mental health and various things like that to give input about what youth in the mental health system want and advise people in key positions who work with youth in the mental health system.

I and other young adults in our community are working on a project called Adolescent Health Care Communication Program. My position as a Teen Educator is to help bridge the communication gap between health care providers and young people in order to improve the delivery of sexual and reproductive health services to teens.

As the facilitator of a community based youth group my primary job was helping the young people in the group (14-25) come up with goals that they wanted to achieve to make a positive difference in our community along with doing a lot of the behind the scene work to make sure they had every opportunity to to help as much as they could.

As a Youth Leader, it was my job to work with young people from age (14-25) to get them involved with their community and show them that with any diagnoses, they can still achieve their goals. Also, I'm there for any type of support to help give them the tools to reach that goal. Create trainings for young people and adults to help them both understand how to use the system.Helped run a monthly youth group for kids under age 14.Worked with local systems to help create a wrap around system, using the school, mental health, juvenile and other systems like these to help and work with the youth and the family.As an experienced presenter, I have created and led many trainings. Worked with (OFSN) on their financial committee to work with their budget and make changes that provide their youth program more money.Help teach youth that I work with skills that they can use to become youth leaders in their community and use their youth voice to change the mental health system.

Our goal is to ensure any person or group in our community impacted by violence, abuse or other trauma will be supported to completely recover and heal.

As a board member of (OFSN) my position was to understand all of the workings of OFSN. I need to know all of the finances, evaluations, policy decisions and push forward the mission and vision of the Organization. As a member of such a huge committee it was my job to make sure that the youth voice washeard. There were many things trying to be accomplished with this committee, and I was there tohelp make sure that mental health and youth were as big a part of this committee as possible.
