A four month contract position involving the design and implementation of two new laboratory apparatus for the inaugural Water & Energy Technology specialization for Chemical Engineering students at McMaster University starting in 2016. The first lab, will allow for final year students to study waste water treatment applications involving current membrane technology. The students will develop translatable skills for the growing water technologies industry, by applying the theory learned in courses such as: Civil Engineering 4V04, Engineering 4V04, and Wastewater Plant Design and Simulation 4W04. The second lab, will involve the study of hydrogen fuel cells. This lab will be accompanied by the addition of new course(s) in the fall of 2016, involving energy systems and emerging technologies.A portion of the term was spent passing on knowledge to transitioning staff members within the Chemical Engineering Department.
