I had my first real exposure to operations when I was 12. On a random Saturday with two non-working chainsaws on our farm in the country, I took both apart to figure out what was wrong with each and whether they could be salvaged. One was scrapped for parts and went to the garbage and the other received some of those parts and got back to work. I’ve always been curious to understand how pieces of anything fit together to make an entire process function seamlessly.I’ve spent my career in operations doing a few things – critically listening to stake holders to understand their real needs, learning how processes function and then optimizing them, and finding ways for projects to pay for themselves through increased efficiency. I’ve installed systems and processes, created business models, defined product strategy, driven both hardware and software development, and managed international teams with steep cultural differences.As a founder, I have one purpose - to use our skills to share generously with others. We all share this space rock. I’d like to live in a world where we help those we can as often as we can. Of the important things I’ve ever accomplished, none of it has ever been alone. I’ve had help along the way from hundreds of different people.
