CurrentLand Conservation Coordinate with partners and stakeholders to encourage strategic land planning and open communication with landowners. Continue to build proactive partnerships and procedures with municipalities and government agencies to implement state-funded purchase of development rights projects. Prepare and submit project applications to NYSDAM and streamline procedures for completing transactions. Oversee the conservation and easement stewardship programs in compliance with LTA standards and practices.Outreach and Fundraising Publicly represent the organization and enhance NYALT’s reputation as a leader in agricultural land conservation and nonprofit governance in New York State. Foster relationships with state agencies, land trusts, community organizations, public officials and legislators, donors, and private landowners. Develop effective methods for community and landowner communications including updating and maintaining the NYALT website and creating other outreach materials, including e-newsletters, written newsletters, and periodic update letters to supporters. Fundraising and grant writingAdministration and Board Communication Periodically review ongoing organizational systems to ensure effective and timely management of NYALT’s projects, decisions, policies, and overall resources. Ensure the organization continues to reflect its organizational values, with particular attention focused upon its desire to be both a “learning” and “leading” organization. Maintain open and regular communication with Board members and build a team rapport with board/staff.
