I underwent training on domestic and sexual violence, confidentiality laws, and advocacy. I shadowed residential coordinators, taking hotline calls and intakes of new clients in the shelter. I also shadowed court and life advocates, learning about the different duties required of the job and sitting in on meetings with clients.
