•Brandy is a recognized leader in Utah regarding domestic violence prevention education and has developed individual curriculum to educate faith leaders, law enforcement, healthcare providers, journalist, business and professional leaders and general populations.•Under her direction and with the help of 2,000 volunteers, they educated a quarter of the population in the State of Utah regarding the dynamics of domestic violence and available resources. That also included teens and parents education on dating violence prevention in every junior high and high school in Utah. •Brandy was selected by Western Community Policing and the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center to write domestic violence curriculum for law enforcement covering an 8 state area.•For over 20 years, Brandy has been actively involved in the legislative process testifying before Legislative Committees to urge for desperately needed funding of domestic violence services and statutes to protect victims. She served as an active member of the National Association of Attorneys General’s Violence Against Women Advisory Committee. In that capacity she was personally responsible for getting dating violence added to the first re-authorization of Violence Against Women Act in the United States Congress. •She chaired the State Domestic Violence Council (UDVC), and it’s Government Affairs, Public Education workgroups, is current chair of council’s Diversity Work Group and the author of the Domestic Violence Related Death Report. •Brandy is skilled at encouraging professionals, service providers, educators and community organizations to understand exactly why, when and where victims need their help. She is able to accomplish this goal by taking them through the perspective of how victims view the world. •Brandy’s relentless efforts, dedication and inspiration have resulted in bettering the plight of victims.
