I am a student at UW-Madison, expecting to graduate this spring, May 2018. I am currently working on a double major in Political Science and Psychology. I plan to continue on to Law School. I have had almost six years of customer service at Burger King where I started as a training crew member, and now am currently the Assistant General Manager. I have had the opportunity to learn so many different skills ranging from the basic customer service, running a business, how to work with many different people in a team, and even learning some of the paperwork aspects of the business. I enjoy the fast-paced environment where I know what needs to be done, and can work with others to achieve our goal. The last couple years I have learned how to officiate basketball and track. This is a job that has taught me much patience and control. There is a lot going on from being on the same page as your partner and the scorekeepers, and trying to manage not just the game, but all the players, coaches, and audience. I love it, but it can be a challenge some times. I have even had the chance to intern at the Columbia County District Attorneys office. I was able to shadow the attorneys on the bench, and was even taught some skills like drafting complaints. It was great to see some of the stuff I learned first-hand. It is one thing to read about it, but a whole other thing to actually be able to do it. I was able to learn some very valuable knowledge and skills for what I plan to pursue in my career. It even helped me decide what I may want to look into and what I don't necessarily care to do for myself in the future. I have had many different kinds of opportunities, with a vast array of skills for each that I think will all be needed when I finally achieve my dream job of working in government and being a lawyer. I continue to look for and find new opportunities and jobs that will let me add new skills and knowledge to my existing set.
