Brandy Smith is the Program and Outreach Director for Arouet, overseeing reentry programming and outreach for Perryville Women’s Prison, in Goodyear, AZ. A California native, she has lived in Arizona for almost 35 years. As a tenured employee of Arouet, her personal experience of being directly impacted by the criminal justice system fueled her passion for second chances and reentry. Brandy utilizes her success and story as part of the Arouet Storyteller program, aimed at changing the hearts and minds of legislators, business people and faith leaders, regarding their views on second chances for women coming out of incarceration. Her experience in industries such as B2B Sales and Marketing, Inside Sales and Fundraising, enable her to advocate for women so they can have a fighting chance to reunite with their families and communities and stop the cycle of recidivism. As a vocal advocate for recovery (she’s celebrating 11 years clean) and sentencing reform, when she isn’t out trying to change the world, she enjoys spending time camping, volunteering and community engagement.
