I am a senior business advisor who provides business coaching, guidance on accessing capital through our many programs and connection to community support through various networks. I provide support and access to resources to help high-growth, high-potential companies to become self-sustaining and positioned to provide economic and social benefits to Alberta.

I designed, built, and prototyped Western Canada’s first ElevateIP grant program. In less than 6 months, I had over 100 people enrol in the pilot project that I launched.To make that happen, I partnered with over 30 of Canada’s leading IP law firms, and brought in world-class subject matter experts, like David Bland, to help early-stage companies develop an IP protection strategy that makes them more investible.

Each top founder coached through Trailblazing raised a minimum of $10,000 for their business idea within 1 year of completing the program.Coached over 60 first-time founders through customer discovery and establishing business value (i.e., IP).Curated a hackathon model to integrate entrepreneurial thinking into courses where students solved business problems for local non-profits, generating over 12 unique business solutions, of which 25% were adopted as IP for organizations.Established a process to support founders looking to prototype and test possible inventions with support from students and researchers in Agility's makerspace.Co-led a community of practice for Alberta post-secondaries, Entrepreneur Educators of Alberta, to reduce inequities of support for students. Re-branded Agility to become an experiential learning program with a focus on 4 key pillars: social impact, entrepreneurship, agriculture & agri-business, and emerging technologies.Established the Campus Ecology fund for student-led research focused on understanding the U of L's campus environment and sustainability, with a focus on supporting grounds keepers in reducing operations' costs and introducing Indigenous ways of knowing into Western science methods. Over 15 research projects were completed, of which 3 projects were implemented.Took over a food insecurity project called Food for Thought that supported students in learning how to fundraise and come up with unique ideas to support food insecurity on campus. Created the RBC Summit, a 250-person event that brings together thought leaders in business and students. Event was sold out every year. Over 50% of attendees were able to make key business connections (e.g., investors and student hires).Established and managed two new scholarships to support student-entrepreneurs, with a focus on unique ideas. In my second year (2014), I was operating small equipment; broom and packers. I worked with construction crews, chip seal crews, and on a maintenance crew for rural roads. In the last season at the Wilton (2016), I managed a team of three summer casual labourers and began to learn about policy and products. My time at the R.M. of Wilton enabled me to experience the field work of a government position, while gaining tickets for Flagger, WHMIS, and chainsaw operations.
