o Help design and implement outreach, career exploration, job search activities for ERC participants – e.g., outreach to youth who attend Outside In meal program; help plan and execute Career Spotlights, workplace tours, visits to job fairs and annual ERC Future Fair.o Attend morning Job Clubs to engage, assist and promote job retention program component.o Help youth maintain relevant, useful and up-to-date individual career plans, which delineate priorities, next steps and target dates, address barriers, and indicate youth progress in completing their short- and long-term employment and education goals.o Engage, instruct and actively coach youth to increase skills and to help facilitate greater self-confidence, commitment and hopefulness as they execute their career plans – e.g., career exploration, job search, job retention, post-secondary enrollment and persistence.o Provide coaching and instruction onsite at ERC and out in the community.o Help youth become active partners in understanding soft skills that support success at work and school, assessing their progress, and celebrating gains, persistence and other achievements.o Communicate and collaborate with staff in other agency programs to assist youths’ overall goal of self-sufficiency and to overcome any barriers to youth success.o Act as Go-To person for information regarding post-secondary training/education and financial aid, and act as lead for annual Future Fair.o Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all services, assessments, achievements and resources given to meet funder requirements and to provide good data for program planning.o Work with entire ERC team to ensure an integrated career development approach, continuous improvement and relevance of the program in meeting youth needs and contractual agreements.o Perform other duties as requested.

o Responsible for the planning, implementing, direction, oversight, and evaluation of the success coaching program for at risk students including low income, minority, and first generation studentso Determining service population and working directly with those students to identify and remove academic and social barriers to successo Partnering with campus and community partners to support studentso Establishing tutoring and resource referral program based on the No Excuses modelo Evaluation of student and program success and follow up reporting as required by the grant

o Course designed to be a broad interdisciplinary introduction (with contributions from Psychology, Anthropology, Linguistics, Mass Communications and Speech Communications) to a communication model effective for problem solving in group situationso Specifically, the course develops communication and problem solving skills through the context of college success.o With this communication focus, students develop a set of problem-solving skills and experiences to ensure academic and professional success.
