I worked in the Allen School's Neural Systems Lab, designing a novel eye-tracker based interface for human-robot interaction. A user can load the interface on a website, and use the eye-tracker to interact with a robot arm. I am developing a communications API between the robot arm, the eye tracker, and the website so a user can interact with the website using the eye tracker, and the robot will respond accordingly. The eye-tracker also allows me to gather metrics about where the user is looking while they are being fed.

I worked in Cornell University's EmPRISE lab to develop a virtual robotic simulation environment for use in academic research. I focused on programming a simulated model of a robot arm to feed twelve different food items to a user. With the Robot Operating System, I added the ability for the simulator to directly communicate with existing robot code. Now, the simulator is under further development from other EmPRISE lab members.

EcoCAR is a national automotive competition with a component that focuses on autonomous vehicles. For over a year, I led the UW EcoCAR autonomous vehicles team, where I managed 20+ undergraduate and graduate engineering students. I led the team to implement a sensor fusion system using vision and radar data for SAE level 2 autonomy. Using unit tests, I evaluated key performance metrics of the sensor fusion system. My leadership culminated in a 3rd place competition finish.

As a software engineer in UW EcoCAR, I had an opportunity to build the first iteration of the team's sensor fusion algorithm. I also took an active role in sensor (camera and radar) data validation and analysis, culminating in a paper that won 3rd place in the national EcoCAR competition.
