Breanna has a decade of experience building network-based initiatives across Hawai‘i and with international platforms to advance sustainability and climate action. She is a freelance writer, facilitator, and strategist for diverse projects that advance social and environmental change. She previously served as the Director of Operations & Partnerships for Hawai’i Green Growth, which was recognized by the United Nations as one of the world’s first Local2030 Hubs for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Breanna has worked with partners through diverse committees and programs, including for Volunteer Week Hawaiʻi, 2016 IUCN World Conservation Congress, Aloha Connects Innovation, Local2030 Islands Network, UN Environment Programme UNEA-4 regional consultation, and the City & County of Honolulu’s Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan and Resilience Strategy. She serves as Board President for nonprofit organizations Kanu Hawaiʻi and Zero Waste Hawaiʻi and is on the Board of Directors for the Hoʻāla Foundation for Education.Breanna was recognized by the Obama Foundation as one of two hundred emerging leaders for its inaugural Asia Pacific Leaders program and was named by Pacific Business News as one of “40 Under 40” business and community leaders in 2020. She has her Bachelor’s degree in English & Creative Writing and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Leadership for Sustainability with the University of Vermont to advance transformation at the intersection of education, health, and regenerative systems. She was born and raised in Maui and is committed to lifelong work in the service of communities and the planet.
