I help run the Northwestern College student-led newspaper, the Beacon. I manage planning night meetings, am the copy editor and overseer at Thursday night layouts, and set up interviews to fill positions when needed. I help my editors find stories to cover when needed, manage the blog, and supervise each individual section.

I am an on-call tutor. This means students on Northwestern's campus can contact me at any time of the day or week to reach out for tutoring. I spend anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour with each student to make sure they get the help they are looking for. Within the sessions, I communicate organizational or grammar edits to enhance their work. I also analyze content and provide constructive feedback for changes.

I effectively utilize computer software to record game statistics for a variety of athletic events. For those events, I convey all team actions accurately and quickly to my partner or listen attentively to the plays they are telling me to make sure we get correct stats in the system. During halftimes, after matches, and at the ends of games, I will deliver statistics to each coach promptly and efficiently along with broadcasters and others at the stats table.

When I worked as an editor for the school newspaper, I was in charge of the Opinions section. I would select two writers weekly to write an opinion piece over certain topics. Once I got the articles back I would review, critique, and place them into a specific layout for further editing. From here I received edits from the copy editor and then posted stories to the Beacon blog.

It is important that I have clear communication with my managers and co-workers; to do so, I always have a radio on me and am sure to respond within five seconds to keep the conversation moving along quickly.

As a counselor, I displayed an outgoing, uplifting, positive, and serving attitude and individually led a cabin of 10 - 12 campers each week. I attended weekly meetings and provided effective assessments. During the week, I managed daily Bible studies for the specific age group I was working with. For family camps, I mostly managed Bible studies for our littles (1 - 3), but I also worked with middle school (7 - 8) and high school (9 - 12). I was privileged with leading Vocation Bible Studies (VBS) off camp every once in a while. I wrote up skits, Bible studies, and created games mostly for first and second graders, and participated in leading large group worship each morning, afternoon, and sometimes evenings.
