About John Breen

An innovative chemical engineering post graduate with extensive experience and interest in fields relevant to carbon capture and utilisation (CCUS). Currently CTO of NEG8 Carbon a sSME spun out from Trinity College Dublin, specialising in the capture of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere (Direct Air Capture - DAC). Prior to that I was CTO at MOF Technologies, a spin-out from Queen’s University Belfast specialising in the production, characterisation and utilisation of Metal Organic Framework sorbents for applications including carbon capture. My work experience spans the range from academia (in the fields of catalytic emission control, hydrogen production and carbon utilisation) to start-up (NEG8, MOF Tech, Sorbent Engineering) to full scale industrial manufacturing (MSD).I'm passionate about combatting climate change and bringing over 25 years of experience in fields related to carbon capture and utilisation to the development and commercialisation of NEG8 Carbon's DAC technology.
