I have decided to try the retired life and see if I miss the excitement of managing and deploying IT applications!

Yes, I am back with my former employer working as a contractor this time in the role of Program/Project Manager! The company is a lot different with exciting challenges to be had! I have the opportunity to work with many fine people from all over the world and even see some of my former colleagues at AT&T on some emails or as project contacts working for IBM. It is hard to believe that I have been with AT&T for over three years now. I have successfully deployed over 25 projects to production when other peers have deployed one or two, with 8 month deployment cycles. My projects have been "quck hitters"! The average time that I have had for my projects is 2 to 3 months with one or two with 8 to 10 month life cycles to deployment. It continues to be exciting and challenging!

I worked as an independent contractor with two consulting firms in the roles of Project Manager and Meeting Facilitator. With over 30 years working in the IT profession, encompassing every phase of the IT Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from Project Office to Production Support, my true love is working collaborativly with clients and system developers, architects, etc. to design and deploy system solutions.

Program/Project Manager for 3 projects within the Veterans Admin Agency. The most significant projects are: 1) supporting the preperation of the budget information for Congressional approval; 2) Implementing Business Intelligent software to improve timely and flexible reporting within the VA.; 3) Supporting Asset Management organization in terms of managing VA Assets, i.e. VA hospitals and facilities maintenance and replacement, where needed.

Contracted by Fujitsu Services UK in support of the World's largest IT Improvement Programme. My responsibilities as Programme/Project Manager for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, included the managing of the deployment of Patient Administration Systems and Radiology and Pacs deployments for Hampshire and Isle of Wight. Four Trusts, containing multiple hospitals each. Successfully accomplished 8 successful and timely Radiology and PACS systems deployments across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight in 11 months.

Supported a team of application support personnel at Puerto Rico Telephone Company, including PRTC managers. Fujitsu's responsibility was to integrate a new third party vendor's software as a replacement for their existing billing system. My role was to achieve migration and reporting functionality to the PRTC client. The product was rejected by PRTC and the project terminated in March 2003.

Worked as the Engagement Director for Fujitsu Consulting in charge of the two major UK and 7 other European telco billing systems. Responsible for over 50 consultants and client relations. I also managed the Test team, Analyst Team and DBAs.

Performed various duties for Fujitsu Consulting in support of Consultant management, project management and sales and marketing roles.

In Charge of over 100 analysts, programmers, testers of 4 major billing systems. Also worked on the the Technical team for the AT&T Outsourcing selection project.
