Introduces, develops and assesses new agency clinical services and models related to patient care and health education. Develops training materials and delivers presentations to introduce new approaches to service delivery into the organization. Collaborates with intra-departmental leaders to assess financial impact, and pursue process improvement practice. Clinical Nurse Specialist - Part timeDelivers clinical services to pregnant women, adolescents and children with special infections including living with HIV. Provides education and consultation to medical residents, attending physicians, nursing staff and patients on HIV pathology, treatment and decreasing maternal child transmission. Pediatrics: Provides age appropriate primary and specialty care, immunizations, well child visits and referrals to children and adolescents ages 12 - 25yrs. Performs phlebotomy, orders lab work and diagnostic tests. Manages and treats common diseases, injuries, illnesses, STI’s, and HIV related infections. PrEP and PEP provided.OB/Gyn: Provides routine prenatal care HIV positive pregnant women. Performs history and physicals, pelvic exams and phlebotomy. Orders labs and prenatal and antenatal diagnostic testing. Administers antiviral medications to mother and baby during antepartum and postpartum. Prescribes pre-exposure prophylaxis (PREP), contraceptives, and treats infections. Develops and implements HIV protocols to decrease vertical transmission. Program Director of HIV services for adult, pregnant women and children: 11/1999- 6/2014Provides direct patient care as an advanced practice nurse to pregnant women and children living with HIV. Oversees ongoing program development, budget, policy and procedures, identifies grant and research opportunities and promotes marketing strategies.
