AAS, Medical Coding and Billing, December 2015. - High Honors and a GPA of 3.7 - I will be CPC-A certified shortly. I have worked in the medical billing industry for 10 years doing pre-authorizations, notifications, insurance verifications for inpatient and outpatient and as a registrar in both the emergency department and outpatient diagnostics. Recently, I worked doing coding and billing, and as a financial treatment coordinator in a dental office. I was responsible to bill out every account for that day, verify insurance eligibility and benefits for upcoming appointments. and present treatment plans for upcoming treatments. Working for a company who had two locations, and usually two clinics running in the one office at the same time. I billed for regular dental, children's dental including the OR, and for our oral surgeon. While I have enjoyed these jobs, I went to school to become a Certified Medical Coder. I am now studying for the CPC exam, and will have earned my CPC-A certification before the end of the summer. Coding is where my heart lies.
