I am a fourth generation Japanese Canadian who grew up in Brampton, ON. I graduated from Humber College's Sport Management program in 2019. I am extremely passionate about hockey and helping the next generation of athletes. My biggest assets include my work ethic, ability to think outside-of-the-box and vast knowledge and experience within the game of hockey. Currently, I am the Coordinator of Events & Communications for the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL). My job is to plan and execute GTHL flagship events that help to showcase and grow the league. Some of our most notable events include the GTHL Top Prospects Game, Under-18 All-Star Games, OHL Cup, Legacy Classic Golf Tournament, Awards Gala and many more. Prior to joining the GTHL, I spent time with the Oakville Rangers Hockey Club (ORHC) as the club's League Operations Coordinator. While in this role, I was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the clubs House League programming. I am extremely proud of the changes, initiatives and programs created during my time with the Rangers. Some of the highlights include the creation of the Advanced House League Program, the Accelerate Beginner Program and the continued player development of those getting into hockey and wanting to progress to Rep.I have also done work with Hockey Equality, the City of Brampton, Toronto Marlies (AHL), Amazon Canada and AON. I completed by internship with the Brampton Beast (formerly of the ECHL) and was named Intern of the Year for the 2018-19 season. I also have seven seasons of experience as an Assistant Coach in minor hockey. From 2017 to 2022, I coached with my hometown Brampton 45's at the Minor Development (MD), A and AA levels. From 2022 to 2024, I was an Assistant Coach with the Credit River Capitals at the AAA level. Developing players to be better both on and off the ice has always been my goal. The most rewarding part of coaching has always been seeing how much the players progress by the end of the season. Working in sport is a privilege and is something I don't take for granted. Having the ability to do something I love and share it with others is a blessing. I enjoy interacting with the younger generation and working with them to hopefully fall in love with sports in the same way that I did. I'm always looking for ways to continue to grow the game of hockey and make it more affordable and inclusive for all. *Last updated July, 2024
