As a Disability Support Worker and Group Program Facilitator at Personalised Support Systems, I provide individual and group support to people with disabilities and help them develop their skills, confidence, and independence. I have been working in this role for over two years, and I have gained valuable experience in delivering person-centred and evidence-based interventions, facilitating team building and social activities, and collaborating with other professionals and stakeholders. I am also a Psychology Student at Australian Catholic University, where I am 3 units shy of completing my Bachelor of Psychological Sciences. I am passionate about learning and applying psychological theories and principles to enhance the well-being and quality of life of people with diverse needs and backgrounds. I have a strong interest in knowledge acquisition, and I have developed skills in research, analysis, communication, and critical thinking. My goal is to complete my degree and pursue further education and career opportunities in both psychology and disability, and explore how the two relate and interact. I am motivated to empower people with disabilities to achieve their personal and professional goals and to participate in their communities. I am committed to providing compassionate, respectful, and inclusive support to the people I work with, and to contributing to a positive impact, not only in their lives, but for us all.
