Ever since I was young, I’ve been a sports enthusiast. Growing up watching and participating in a handful of sports at various levels provided me with an outlet I continue to rely on today. Playing in leagues with a variety of ages gave me the opportunity to teach and play with younger athletes. Through the good and bad, this outlet has taught me various life lessons and provided me with valuable skills such as patience and the art of listening.Thanks to my continued passion for sports, I’ve found myself studying the industry through the Sport Management program at Humber College. Through this program, I’ve been given the opportunity to learn how to organize, plan and execute athletics to grow the sports community and provide a positive and memorable experience for people of all ages. Through my education in the industry, I plan to use my creative abilities to challenge athletes in an inclusive environment enabling them to develop character and have a positive and memorable experience no matter how they choose to partake, whether it be recreational, competitive, or even as fans. As my passion for the industry and career continue to grow and develop, I challenge myself to contribute and grow through mentors and experience. I hope to continue to help athletes grow in their desired sports as athletes and citizens of society. Through this, I plan to make sure that sport is accessible for all those who desire to partake across the world, through attention to detail, teamwork, and a good reputation. I feel strongly that everyone deserves the same opportunity no matter how they choose to partake. As a Sport Management graduate, I am eager to take direction, grow through the challenges that may appear into a strong leadership role. As an athlete, graduate, and sports fan, I will uphold the skills I have learned and apply them as a volunteer or in internship placements that will provide me with an opportunity to gain experience and valuable knowledge from professionals in the industry.
