The Interim Executive Director leads the operations of triathlon in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, professionally balancing the varied priorities of the boards, funders, volunteers, athletes, coaches, employees, and members. The Executive Director manages and implements the plan to attain the organisations’ vision and enables the Boards to effectively govern the organisations while also leading any staff and contractors who may deliver the programs and services of the PSOs. Successfully securing and maintaining competitive sport funding and managing relationships with those funders is a key priority. The primary obligation is to recruit and retain a permanent Executive Director.General: • Lead the development and implementation of the Strategic Plans. • Oversee and manage PSO staff and all human resources matters• Implement the vision and mission of the PSOs with key strategies such as True Sport, Responsible Coaching Movement, and Safe Sport. • Ensure compliance with funder requirements, including but not limited CSI Atlantic, the Provincial Governments, hosting and other grants, earned revenue, and other sources of funding. • Manage financial operations in consultation with the Finance Committees. • Oversee triathlon competitions and events to ensure effective delivery. • Provide governance and functional support to the Boards of Directors including meeting management, reporting, record keeping and policy and procedures development. • Lead and manage the communication and marketing strategy. • Serve as the primary liaison with Triathlon Canada and guide the activation of national decisions within NB, NS and PEI. • Oversee all program delivery the three organisations. • Facilitate office management and administration, as needed.

Coordinate Triathlon Technical Officials (TOs) training and development in NB. Provide advice and mentorship to active TOs. Develop and implement rules and policies to ensure the highest safety and fairness level in NB multisport races. Work with NB Coaching staff in the development of Youth and Junior races. Liaise with Triathlon Canada, when possible, to further the development of technical officials in Canada. Provide advice on technical issues to the board of Directors upon request.

Act as Technical Delegate, Team Leader or Chief Referee for Canadian and International triathlon and duathlon races. As TD be responsible for safety, security, operational logistics, and technical delivery of races or as TL be responsible for the look & feel, media, awards, and presentation logistics) at Canadian, Continental (Pan Am) and International races.

Coordinate the training and development of Triathlon Technical Officials (TOs) in BC. Provide advice and mentorship to active TOs. Develop and implement rules and policies to ensure the highest level of safety and fairness in multisport races in BC. Work with BC Coaching staff in the development of Youth and Junior races. Santosha is an aspect of “niyama” (the rules of living), the second of the eight limbs of yoga (2.29) as described in the Yoga Sutras of Pantanjali. (Note: the numbers refer to the chapter and verse of the Yoga Sutras .) “1.2. Yoga is the settling of the mind into silence. 1.3 When the mind is settled, we are established in our essential nature, which is unbounded consciousness.” In the modern context, this means that we practice asana and pranayama – the physical postures and the breathing exercises – to calm our mind. If we are lucky, then we achieve samadi – the settled mind.This can be as simple or as complex as a person wishes. The basic postures (asana) and breathing (pranayama) will have almost immediate benefits.

Respnsible for the development and management of the Canadian Coast Guard National Co-ordination Center (NCC), ensuring that CCG Senior Management is aware of regional events and incidents, co-ordination of the national response as necessary, and ensuring that the plans and procedures are in place so that the CCG Fleet is able to deliver its program ansd service to clients and the Canadian Public. Manage the CCG contribution to national security operations in the marine environment

Managed the development, review and implementation of operational and safety policy, procedures and standards for the CCG Fleet. Undertook the project management of special projects such as the implementation of e-mail at sea for the CCG Fleet.

Consulted for the Commonwealth Secretariat, the United Nations, Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), the Economic Council of West African States (ECOWAS) and the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS).

Provided expert advice and guidance to the 16 countries of The South Pacific Forum Fisheries Agency (FFA) on the establishment and conduct of national and regional maritime surveillance operations.
