The National Center for State Courts (NCSC) is a non-partisan, non-profit research organization dedicated to promoting judicial efficiency and the effective administration of justice in state courts. Founded with the encouragement of Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Warren E. Burger in 1971, the NCSC serves as a resource of authoritative knowledge and information to states. NCSC collaborates with the Conference of Chief Justices, the Conference of State Court Administrators, and other members of the judiciary. As a student researcher, responsibilities included supporting and drafting white papers for the NCSC's Research Division with a variety of projects, including its Center for Jury Studies. Areas of research included issues of jury management, challenges to jury formation and prosecutorial conduct, and issues relative to juror compensation statutes. Work product included a white paper and compendium recently published by the National Center for State Courts on juror compensation schemes in all fifty United States jurisdictions and overseas territories.

The Connecticut Attorney General is the chief civil legal officer of the State of Connecticut. A legal intern is responsible for a myriad of special projects that fall within the scope of the mission of the Attorney General's Office. These include but are not limited to legal research, the writing and promulgation of reports, and the creation of various presentations for special events and educational purposes as part of the mission of the Attorney General. From the fall of 2017, the specific focus of the legal internship was with the Antitrust and Government Program Fraud Department. Employed: Two Days Per Week During Academic Terms (August-December; January-May) Key Accomplishments:*Prepared a lengthy presentation and continuing legal education (CLE) materials on the Connecticut False Claims Act (Ch. 55e, §§ 4-274 - 4-279) and related enforcement actions to support professional development. The information was presented by Antitrust and Government Program Fraud Department attorneys to more than one hundred state Administered Health and Human Service agency employees in conferences in 2018 and 2019. The CLE materials remain in use. *Prepared a legal memorandum addressing federal judicial interpretations of "falsity" in cases litigated under the Federal False Claims Act (31 U.S.C. § 3729). This research was part of a suit against Assured Rx, a Florida-based pharmaceutical company. The suit is pending on the Hartford Judicial District's complex litigation docket. *Organized and prepared documentary and electronic evidence as part of discovery practice for inclusion in the eDiscovery Casepoint management system in preparation for the trial in the lawsuit pending against Assured Rx in the Hartford Judicial District. *Reviewed and approved documents for production as part of the discovery process in multi-state litigation cases concerning opioid and other pharmaceutical malpractice.

Paid summer internship positions were held with The Town of Barnstable in the Office of Property and Risk Management (formerly Procurement and Risk Management) from 2015-2017. Previously, unpaid internship positions were held with the Town Manager's Office, the Town Clerk's Office, and the Town Attorney's Office (2014-2015). The positions involved a myriad of tasks including drafting legal case notes on Town litigation, investigating and providing remediation to Town property disputes, and writing reports on Town properties. Employed: (Summers 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017)Key Accomplishments:*Drafted, edited, and delivered a comprehensive insurance asset and risk mitigation report regarding the assets of Barnstable High School's Cobb Astro Park for the Director of Property and Risk Management David W.
