The firm offers a broad array of legal services including corporate formation, probate and family, and contract litigation. In this role, I worked primarily for partner Matthew J. Dupuy, Esq. As a legal assistant, responsibilities included assisting the firm's attorneys with legal research, the identification and procurement of case law, the drafting of deeds and trusts, the composition of legal memoranda, managing office operations, and assisting attorneys in trial practice. Employed: (Summers: 2018-2019; Full Time: Mar. 2020-Nov. 2020; On Contract: 2020-Present)Key Accomplishments:*Engaged in litigation strategy, conducted legal research, and briefed motions, including motions for and oppositions to summary judgment, motions to dismiss, Probate Court affidavits of objection, and actions for declaratory and injunctive relief. *Supported commercial contract, insurance, and reinsurance litigation for institutional clients and individuals.*Drafted legal memoranda to support ongoing litigation. Topics included Massachusetts' treatment of the common law remedy of constructive trusts, negligent infliction of emotional distress, partitioning property held in trust, and c. 61A agricultural land use. *Drafted contracts, conducted contract review and revision, corporate formation and amendments, and assisted with corporate litigation issues for institutional clients, including large property management companies. *Drafted memoranda and administrative appeals in c. 30A MassHealth cases argued before the Health and Human Services Board of Appeals and in Superior Court. *Drafted verified complaints and relevant discovery documents for probate, personal injury, and contract disputes. *Conducted bankruptcy research and prepared § 523 and § 727 discharge complaints for creditors in federal Bankruptcy Court for the District of Massachusetts.
