Emotive is a campaign that raises awareness of plug-in electric vehicles in B.C. The campaign’s goal is to share with British Columbians how much FUN it is to drive an EV.This effort is led by Plug in BC, an initiative co-chaired by the BC Ministry of Energy and Mines and BC Hydro to lay the groundwork for plug-in electric vehicles and related electric charging infrastructure in British Columbia. It is a broad collaboration between the Province of BC, BC Hydro, the Fraser Basin Council, several academic institutions, regional governments, and over 100.As a Special Events Assistant I will be responsible for planning, organizing and leading Emotive presence at a variety of community festivals and events throughout the Lower Mainland.

One of the barriers preventing rapid adoption of CEV’s into the local vehicle market, is the unrestricted access to vehicle charging. A high percentage of Lower Mainland inhabitants live Multi Unit Residential Buildings, where Electric Vehicle charging infrastructure is not readily available or easy to install. In addition, there is also a percentage that live in single family homes but do not have access to home charging infrastructure located within a garage or carport. This role involved Research into Electric Vehicle charging alternatives, in hopes to develop a program to promote Workplace Charging for employees and customers.The research involves conducting case studies of existing workplace charging programs, within the GVRD. It identifies employer policies, incentives and takes a look at key local businesses that may wish to start workplace charging programs. In addition to this, building customer charging programs, may have potential to meet some of the charge needs of PEV owners.
