I believe in the value of community. As a student, I've dedicated my studies to skills and viewpoints that I can use to strengthen our democracy through public education, outreach, and development. I am also an active member of the UPEI Environmental Collective and Students for Social Justice. In the past, I've headed school charity organizations and similar social justice and public education campaigns targeting Highschool and Jr High students. As the song puts it, I am "Island Through and Through" and recognize the value of the arts to my community in PEI. I am a performer, artist, writer, and singer/songwriter in recreational productions and I am currently the welcoming face at the Confederation Centre Arts Gallery, which showcases leading Canadian artists and their unique perspectives free of charge. I am able to bring these passions and skills to my community both on a very practical level as a visual and performance art instructor and indirectly by applying creative, energetic, and engaging elements to any project with which I'm involved. Most recently, I've applied my talents as a writer, actor, songwriter, and artist to write and co-direct a family musical that will be performed by over 160 students in my hometown of Cornwall, PE this spring. This project will bring theatre arts education to young students, promote their participation in all aspects of the creative process as they help to develop the production, foster collaboration and problem-solving, build confidence, and will raise funds to cover the costs of arts-related summer programming for kids in the school community who would otherwise not be able to afford it. This project is something I'm proud of because it draws on my strengths to create something that will be fun, engaging, and educational while demonstrating to the young performers that they can leverage their skills to do good where they see a need. I can not wait to develop and collaborate on more projects like this one!

  Greet patrons visiting the gallery and aid in advancing arts education by explaining the organization's mandate, artist's intentions with current exhibits, and answering any questions on current exhibits and future visions for the gallery. Accept donations on behalf of the gallery and ensure all exhibits are operating as intended.
