Based in the British High Commission in Nicosia, I am responsible for managing and mitigating the threat of organised crime activity which has the potential to impact UK interests in this region. Working in partnerships with local law enforcement and intelligence organisations, I implement highly effective control measures, techniques and tactics to challenge serious threat and risk. Planning and implementing complex projects, I have developed organisational resilience and deliver a well informed approach to critical issues. I have established and maintain resilient relationships with international agencies and partners, actively contributing to strategies both in the UK and overseas to mitigate threat. Leading response to critical risk, I proactively drive intelligence capture, ensuring appropriate intelligence sharing with partners across my dedicated area.Developing and driving targeted operations, I have led the successful response to current and emerging threats from serious organised crime groups. My role includes providing active response to enquiries from the UK and international partners; assessing and prioritising large volumes of requests for intelligence and investigative support. I provide expert advice and lead strategic initiatives to strengthen regional responses to serious crime, driving effectiveness and devising and implementing strategies which support mutually beneficial activity against international crime.

Investigations Command

Managing 40 officers across three teams, I led complex investigations that sought to mitigate and challenge the most serious organised crime. I developed and directed operations to successfully manage critical risk and threat whilst actively developing team expertise, enhancing performance and building morale and motivation. Driving robust information supervision and decision making, I built organisational resilience through the capture and application of best practice and drove continuous learning and improvement. Developing and implementing innovative protocols and investigative strategies, I exercised tenacity to resolve complex and often protracted cases, supervising the dissemination of information, overseeing security, confidentiality and integrity and ensuring compliance with strict legislative and regulatory frameworks. I delivered the robust management of resources to maximise efficiencies and results whilst assessing and managing exceptional risk.

As a firearms commander, I led covert surveillance firearms operations, devising analytical and innovative strategies; guiding on complex and determined criminality. I managed exceptional risk in all aspects of reactive investigations, from victim safeguarding and threat to individuals through to organisational risk in relation to public trust and confidence. I also served in an on call capacity, providing crisis intervention for critical evolving incidents providing leadership, tactical advice and direction.

Investigations Directorate - Armed Operations Unit

In this challenging dual role, unique to the NCA, I led a diverse team of specialist operatives across the UK who were both experienced investigators and authorised firearms officers. I designed and implemented tactical options and identified evidential opportunities to deliver successful covert operations to challenge firearms, drugs and money laundering offending. Securing compliance with legal and organisational requirements, I managed dynamic threat to life incidents and mitigated the activity of high threat individuals and organised crime groups.

Investigations

Leading covert investigations nationally and internationally, I explored tactical options and evidential opportunities to plan and implement operations. Identifying and mitigating the activity of organised crime groups involved in serious offending; I utilised advanced techniques to secure prosecutions around high level drug offending, human trafficking and child sexual exploitation. Managing diverse teams, I led complex covert investigations, securing critical intelligence and evidence, utilising a wide range of technical and conventional tactics.
