The Minnesota GreenCorps program is a statewide initiative, coordinated by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, to preserve and protect Minnesota’s environment while training a new generation of environmental professionals.The program places AmeriCorps members with host organizations around the state to assist communities and local governments in addressing a wide variety of topics such as greenhouse gas reduction and increasing community resilience to the threats of climate change.

• Scheduled meetings for students to meet with advisors• Answered questions students had regarding advising & enrollment or referred them to the appropriate person

• Responsible for the maintenance of a greenhouse hydroponics system used for growing sterile potato varieties intended for use in organic farming and breeding• Took lead in a project that used ELISA tests to test multiple potato varieties for the presence of Potato Virus Y and was part of a project that measured and tracked the specific gravity of several potato varieties over the course of a year• Gained experience with equipment operation during PVY testing• Helped with crossbreeding potato varieties in a project that attempted to create new disease-resistant varieties• Assisted in the building of a new hydroponics system• Gained a lot of Excel experience through consistent data analysis and management• Was responsible for figuring out an organizational system for the data of two projects

• Responsible for two separate groups of tennis players (4-11 and 12-15 years old) while leading them through various drills to learn tennis at a basic-intermediate level• Led drills and made sure that they were suitable for the players, accommodating for various ages• Directed other coach on how to coach the players and lead drills• Helped young tennis students learn the game of tennis and the fundamentals while also helping them develop an interest and passion for the sport
