Current• Drafted federal legislation to improve broadband across the United States and identified bill sponsors and potential co-sponsors in the Senate and House• Provided testimony and broadband data collection and mapping to the U.S. House of Representatives Energy & Commerce Committee, Subcommittee on Communications & Technology on June 21, 2017 (https://energycommerce.house.gov/hearings/defining-mapping-broadband-coverage-america/, time marker 36:55)• Provided extensive committee testimony on broadband, education, and telecom policy issues to state legislatures in 13 states (Alaska, Florida, Hawaii, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, North Carolina, and South Carolina), as well as drafted and positioned legislation to impact broadband policy in several of those states.• Responsible for capturing more than $51 million in federal grant awards to launch five-year broadband-focused mapping, planning, research, and development initiatives on behalf of governors’ offices or their designated agencies in 10 states (see https://www2.ntia.doc.gov/SBDD)• Oversaw statewide school technology assessment projects in the states of Alaska and Utah in an effort to help each state’s legislature gain a comprehensive understanding of broadband and classroom technology deployments in every public school within each respective state (see http://www.uen.org/digital-learning/).• Responsible for administering AT&T’s $100 million commitment to the White House ConnectED Initiative to provide off-campus LTE connectivity grants for students in high-need schools across the country• Headed a team of state government affairs managers responsible for building and maintaining relationships with state government officials at all levels and in various agencies across Connected Nation’s portfolio of states• Conducted presentations on Connected Nation’s work and capabilities at more than 75 conferences, meetings, and events in more than 35 states.
