Utilizing his Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification and his deep knowledge of manufacturing planning systems, materials requirements planning, he has made strong contributions to the businesses where he has worked.At PE Biosystems Bret played a critical role in bringing new life science machines such as DNA Sequencers and Synthesizers to market by contracting for and managing the development of Lasers, Castings, Optical Gratings, CCD’s and Optical Filters. He assigned Buyers to R&D teams, reducing product development time, getting product to market earlier.As Materials Manager at RR Donnelley he built a high functioning team and developed business processes from the ground up where he implemented Supplier Consignment Programs and sent suppliers receive demand data electronically. The site then leveraged this expertise, selling the capability in a consultative manner and Bret became the business model architect for clients like Kyocera, Zagg, Flip Video and Seagate. He was responsible for the successful launch of a greenfield startup in Juarez MX, hiring, training, deploying and overseeing this operation. Bret was promoted to Director of Supply Chain Management for North America with responsibility for Houston TX, Juarez MX, Plover WI, Lexington KY and Indianapolis IN helping these facilities grow and thrive.At Dickson Furniture, he developed systems and tools to manage multiple shipments on a single order. With his leadership the team then tied the business’ ERP system directly to a third party TMS resulting in increased efficiency and elimination of errors. Bret implemented barcode labelling and wireless devices. He also created a library of assembly instructions and held annual installer training sessions significantly improving customer satisfaction and retention. Bret coordinates up to forty large scale furniture installations across the US from June through August running four to five installs simultaneously. Bret has a great track record and has demonstrated that he is a dependable leader who can adapt to a changing environment while maintaining professionalism and valuing his people’s continued professional growth.
