I have over 13 years experience as a researcher in academia and industry (six years post-graduate) earning a B.S. in Biochemistry and a Ph.D. in Biology (cell and developmental biology). Apart from my laboratory experiences, I have also been involved in education as both a guest lecturer and teaching assistant. These experiences has allowed me to develop skills in educating students in a variety of biology classes including developmental biology and cell biology. I have always enjoyed teaching students and my teaching style illustrates my passion and enthusiasm for science. My Ph.D. research was on the role of the cytoskeleton in early Xenopus development. My postdoctoral research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute worked on Wnt signaling in Xenopus development and at the Biological Sciences Department at Lehigh University where I worked on spindle assembly in cultured mammalian cells. My latest position was a Senior Scientist with Callisto Pharmaceutical Inc. at the Institute of Hepatitis Viral Research where I aided in the writing of non-clinical research reports and performed research on potential therapeutic compounds. My research has led to several scientific papers and book chapters. I have authored several posters at scientific meetings and given numerous presentations that included my research and published papers.I was employed as a medical laboratory scientist in the clinical lab at Easton Hospital (2009-2020). I was also employed at Advanced Lab Solutions, LL.C. performing validation and clinical molecular testing (COVID-19 and respiratory pathogen panel). I am currently employed as a Laboratory Medical Technologist at Lehigh Valley Health Network. I have worked in the clinical lab setting in clinical molecular biology, hematology, clinical chemistry, and microbiology. In addition, I performed managerial responsibilities in the hematology department (quality control analysis, proficiency testing, new instrument validation) and molecular. At Advanced Lab Solutions, LLC., I performed validations (LIS and assays), wrote safety procedures and policies, and organized the startup lab that has been approved by state of Pennsylvania and accredited by COLA.I am interested to further my career in the clinical roles in management where my skills and experiences will be useful and will have more leadership roles.
