The FIT for Symptomatic Project delivers a new colonoscopy model of care using FIT Bowel Cancer testing to prioritise patients already on a non-urgent symptomatic waiting list and new referrals, with the goal of significantly reducing waiting times and improving patient outcomes through early diagnosis. Brett was the Project Manager for the Year 0 phase, bringing teams together to gather requirements, design the IT solution and processes, build the Salesforce application with Mule integration and included Test-Lab integration and mail-house delivery of test kits and collateral.The project was a coordinated collaboration with many different groups within Health NZ and multiple external vendors, with each contributing to the delivery. Requirements & Design was implemented using the HNZ Data & Digital (D&D) team, Salesforce application design and build (Deloitte), Integration and Networking (D&D Health Alliance), Lab Processes and IT Sysmex systems (LabPlus, ADHB), Mail-house design and integration (Whakarongorau). The clinical and implementation work was governed by a multi-disciplinary Steering Group and Hospital Specialist Services (HSS).

Product Owner, AU & NZ Metering Data.Brett’s role required team leadership & management, customer engagement, technical leadership & design, opportunity discovery, planning & prioritization, business case development and team mentoring.• Product Owner NZ Metering Data (Jul 23-Current). Leading the rebuilding of the New Zealand Metering Data value stream team. Responsible for the support of core applications and 24x7 customer data delivery, maintenance, replacement and upgrades and new product development for the New Zealand team. Key projects included server rationalization, operating system upgrades, security remediation, B2B customer onboarding, legacy application replacement & optimization and cloud migration. • Product Owner AU Metering Data (Mar 22-Jun 23). Leading the rebuilding of the Australian Metering Data value stream team. Responsible for the support of core applications and 24x7 customer data delivery, maintenance, replacement and upgrades and new product development for the Australian team. Key projects included AEMO Market compliance software enhancements & go-live, implementation of a temporary MDMS to support 5 minute data delivery Market Go Live (AEMO & Brave), operating system upgrades, security remediation, new product development (Dynamic Meter Load Control), implementation of monitoring and alerting & management of renewals, credential & certificates; legacy application replacement, production application stability & optimisation. • Acting Senior Project Manager, 5MS MIP Meter Data Management Replacement (Oct 21-Mar 22). Joining an in-flight programme at short notice, Brett was responsible for the Vector Metering project planning and inter-team coordination. A multi-year (NZD 20m), vendor led, MDMS implementation in AWS, the project built a replacement service for the legacy Oracle MDMS used to interact with the Australian Electricity market participants as part of the 5 minute data reconciliation changes.

Ministry of Business & Employment (MBIE) ICT Digital Blueprint Programme creation (4 months). Senior Project Manager. Voco was engaged to lead the formation of a digital transformation programme designed to create a step-change in the delivery and operation of ICT. Voco provided programme leadership on strategy and approach, and designed and implemented programme office, management reporting and communications, strategic and business scoping to establish an integrated approach across the 50+ initiatives, procedures and team building, programme wide resource management and establishment of a consolidated plan, integrated with the wider MBIE EPMOVodafone NZ; RFP bid response team; for a successful government telecommunications opportunity.Vodafone NZ; Bid Library development. Analysis of large RFP’s and their Vodafone responses; development of model answers and a resource library to improve and accelerate future bid responses.

Senior Project Manager. Vector Advanced Metering Services (VAMS), (Dec 2018-Apr 2021)Cloud Infrastructure design, build and legacy integration using VMC and AWS. (NZ Metering Platform Refresh, Agile Project Manager, 8 months). Design and build of a secure cloud based infrastructure integrated with Vector Digital’s existing legacy and core systems to replace 100+ legacy VM’s, servers and databases. Teams were drawn from across the business and external vendors. The scope Included commercials, Infrastructure, migration planning, security and network design, build and testing. The new platform will now host the full NZ metering application stack using VMC (VMWare in the Cloud), database servers natively hosted in AWS, Cloudguard security and transit gateway connectivity to legacy systems and business partners.Legacy meter environment replacement and new technologies release. (Arc Replacement and Series 3 meter implementation, Agile Project Manager, 6 months). Successful implementation of new systems, processes and metering products to support the infield replacement of 100k legacy electricity meters. SaaS Meter Head End Implementation and Migration. (Next Gen Head End Project, Agile Project Manager, 24 months). Implementation of the EDMI Storm SaaS head end application used to communicate with more than 1.2 million electricity meters. The new solution manages all Vector Metering EDMI meters, collecting readings and metering data at twice the earlier rate, delivering to the Meter Data Management (MDM) and key reporting systems. It is integrated into the existing workflow systems to support remote disconnection and reconnection. This Agile project with a core design, development and test team of 15, drew on over 100 others from the wider Vector business, metering, technical teams and suppliers to achieve success.
