I am responsible for all mechanical aspects of the structural, thermal, and environmental design of space and ground based telemetry systems. I work in new product development while also supporting our two legacy product lines. Day to day activities include 3D design of components and assemblies in Solidworks, material selection, drafting of assembly and machine drawings using ASME Y14.5 (GD&T), and checking peers’ designs and drawings. I perform structural analyses using Solidworks Simulation including reporting margins for structural and PCB components, thermal analyses including calculating PCB component junction temperatures, spacecraft venting analyses, and tolerance analyses. My duties also include report writing, environmental test plan creation (acceleration, vibration, shock, and thermal vac), creating engineering changes, and presenting the mechanical design section at internal and customer design reviews.

I was the on-site representative leading a team of technical and non-technical people to convert assembly instructions for Pratt & Whitney. As team leader, I was responsible for training new additions to my team. My main role was to audit current manufacturing instructions and bring these instructions up to the standard used at the new facility while providing on-site support to engineering and process planning teams working in Poland and Canada. I transitioned to a manufacturing engineer role and was responsible for creating routers, tool modifications, and trouble shooting assembly issues on the floor.* Successfully converted 5 complete engine models to the new manufacturing system in use today at the new facility

I lead a team in the design of interior structures for new and existing aircraft per FAA, EASA, and customer requirements. My responsibilities include managing requirements compliance, program cost, product certification and qualification, and program schedule. I also oversee and guide the design process from conceptual design through drawing release and manufacture. I was the technical point of contact for all customer interaction and I produce technical proposals and memos. My role also includes approving and checking engineering drawings.· Reduced cost and weight while improving manufacturability of units as Lead Designer on 787 interior programs.· Successfully managed the integration of products from multiple Zodiac business units into a single top-level product.· Lead the design of a first of its kind, handicapped-accessible monument from concept to manufacture

My responsibilities included 3-D CAD modeling using CATIA V5, structural design using composite and traditional materials, and drafting documents specifying installation and manufacture (DFMA) of large assemblies and detail parts. In my time at Zodiac, I learned how to properly document engineering changes as well as how to work through a product development cycle including drawing release and FAA/EASA certification.· Recognized as training leader for Zodiac manufacturing processes in sheet metal, machine parts, and extrusions.· Recognized as Catia V5, 3D CAD, and Smarteam, Product Lifecycle Management software, training leader.· Active participant on Automation Council including building and testing software using Catia VBA integration.· Oversaw engineering production support for three programs over three assembly lines as a junior designer.· Created countermeasures and mitigation plans to improve quality by analyzing root causes of common design errors.

Responsible for building finite element models in FEMAP based on customer specifications. This includes meshing complex assemblies based on 3D model data and determining failure criteria. I would check for mechanical failures under these conditions and guide design of reinforcements to use common manufacturing methods. I was also responsible for producing project deliverables for summarizing results of analysis for customer review.

I learned to properly build, mesh, and constrain models using Femap as a pre and post processor. I wrote the models into NEiNastran as well as NXNastran and used these solvers to calculate loads, deformations, stresses, and natural frequencies of structures and used the data to make recommendations on how to improve the designs. •Created FEMs for customers based on design requirements and analyzed failure conditions•Created training videos demonstrating how to use basic, advanced, and new Femap functions.•Calculated the loads during emergency landing of a Berkut landing gear system using FAA requirements •Performed modal analysis of a satellite model and increased the lowest natural frequency to survive simulated launch conditions.

I privately tutor AP and Honors Chemistry as well as all levels of math from calculus to pre algebra. I was responsible for the math and science tutoring of a core group of three students in the South Bay. I reviewed test and homework performance and tailored my method of teaching to the individual student.· Increased test scores by a letter grade in my core group of students.· Managed my own business and found ways to extend my student base through networking.

My team designed and built a temperature stable, subzero testbed enclosure for LLNL. My role on theproject team was to develop the control system for the cooling unit, design and model the enclosure,select the materials of each of the components based on heat transfer requirements, create themechanical and assembly drawings, and machine the components for our prototype assembly.· Achieved twenty times greater temperature stability than benchmark device on prototype.· Met or exceeded all project completion requirements.· Delivered successful project on time and our total cost was less than half of our budget.

Redesign of NASA Space Shuttle Arm, UCSBMy team successfully redesigned the boom arm system on the space shuttle using composite materials.My responsibility was to design the latching mechanism for holding the arm in place during launch, perform frequency analysis on different segments of the arm, calculate the maximum bending stress on the arm during launch, and to design the adhesive joint that would survive in the extremes of space.· Recognized for having the lightest structure with the least number of supports to survive launch.· Designed smaller, lighter joint by reducing the thermal stress component on the joint and boom.

Using National Instruments LabVIEW I built a system that took pictures from a microscope and measured the deflection of micro polymer chains when a thermal gradient is applied. The program concatenated the images into a video for further analysis and storage. The program's GUI allowed for color adjustment/enhancement and user-defined capture settings.
