At the peak Century Hotels employed 500 people at six hotels, five restaurants, and three parking garages. Five of the properties were located in the Vieux Carre therefore we were very familiar with historic property renovations, its restrictions and the requirements of our local and state historic commissions. Most notably in 2004 we worked with the Vieux Carre Commission staff in developing and renovating the 17,000.00 sq ft la Louisiane Restaurant bldg located at 725 Iberville. As a business owner and tourism leader I served as President and Chairman of the many interrelated local and state tourism industry boards, such as: "The New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corporation", “The Greater New Orleans Hotel and Lodging Association“, “The Louisiana Hotel and Lodging Association“, “The Rivergate Development Corporation” (Harrah's Casino’s Landlord Board) “The Historic French Quarter Marigny District Board” and the “New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau“. Qualifications: Strategic business thinker adept in financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting. Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Word and. experienced in construction and development of historic property renovations. Mr. Smith is also familiar with preparing, implementing, and explaining operational and capital budgets to a board of directors. Mr. Smith while Treasurer of the Rivergate Development Corporation was responsible for reporting the budget to the City Council. Professional in appearance and behavior and his personal integrity is beyond reproach.
