Brett Dutton is a Principal and Liability-Driven Investment (LDI) Solutions Leader in Mercer’s US Investments business, with over 20 years of investment industry experience. He leads a team of senior investment professionals responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and reporting on LDI strategies within Mercer’s US OCIO client base.Immediately prior to rejoining Mercer in 2024, Brett was Head of Investment Strategy and Analysis at Vanguard Institutional Advisory Services, where he and his team were responsible for institutional asset allocation modeling, custom portfolio construction, liability hedging, quantitative analysis, and investment research. Other previous experience includes PNC Institutional Asset Management (VP, Asset Liability Solutions Specialist), Reams Asset Management (Fixed Income Analyst and Actuary), Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (Actuary), and Mercer (Actuarial Consultant).Brett is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), an Enrolled Actuary (EA), and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree summa cum laude in Mathematics from Grove City College and a Master of Music degree in Conducting from Penn State University.
