I earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management Science with a Concentration in Marketing from the University of North Carolina at Asheville in 2011. As a part of this education, I completed an internship at Lake Eden Events, Black Mountain, North Carolina, which is a non-profit agency devoted to fostering culture and community through music and arts. As a marketing intern, I promoted the Lake Eden Arts Festival, a family friendly world music festival held two-times a year, using internet, social media, and guerilla marketing approaches. I was successful in my efforts to improve the promotion of the festival, and I left in place a strategy to assist with the promotion of future festivals. Upon moving to Austin in late 2012 I quickly found a rewarding job helping others. My previous job was Manager of Training and Staff Development for a Face to Face fundraising company who raises funds for non-profits. After over two years of helping others domestically and abroad through intensive face-to-face non-profit fundraising on the street and door-to-door levels I am ready to focus my energy more locally. I am ready for the new challenges that will come from working directly within a non-profit and I know seeing the local impact of my hard work will drive me to do great things. I am confident that my abilities to connect with people and bring ideas together can be an extremely valuable asset in the local non-profit community.
