Recognizing that the one-size fits all approach to education does not result in career readiness for all, Brett has found a passion in designing innovative entrepreneurial learning organizations that involve students in the work of the real world. Brett is the Chief Engagement Officer at e3 Civic High, an innovative charter school located in the downtown San Diego Library where he is leading a redesign of the school's learning model and revisioning the library partnership. Previously, he worked to transform educational opportunities for secondary students at Twin Rivers Unified, created an educational entrepreneurship graduate program to empower innovators to disrupt the social sector at the University of the Pacific, and helped redesign the high school experience in an innovative learning environment as the founding principal of the Phillip J. Patiño School of Entrepreneurship.
