Innovative design met IPX7 requirements with minimal edge barrier. Passed ±30KV ESD using thick PET layer for punch through and reduction of internal layering for edge penetration. Managed supplier during the transfer of design from supplier to in-house.- Designed fixtures for: tooth wheel inspection, pigtail buckling, pump assembly, impact detector, drop test, gear cover installation, disc assembly hand tools, control module adhesive cure, disc heat staking, flex circuit bending fixture, multi-indicator tubing receptacle go-no go and misc. fixtures for fabrication and machining.- Re-designed battery compartment for spring contact fully meeting BAJ battery requirements.- Solved plastic flexible lead screw accuracy issues using advanced methods and equipment such as Leitz microtome part comparison and photo comparison measurement.- Wrote custom windows based software to control pump cycle to characterize pumps having low efficiency. Real-time plotting and Excel data file creation.- Created molded press-in part from Dupont Hytrel to help reduce pump cycling noise.- Developed custom latching impact detector capable of detection when power is not available.- Lead three R&D mechanical engineers and a summer intern in projects involving mold changes, fixtures and impact tests.
