I serve as an intern with FERC in the office of the executive director. In many of my roles here with the commission I have provided a tremendous amount of support. My roles in the human resource department include, system implementation, assistance in the creation of leadership development content and training, on boarding for new hires, resume reviews for prospective applicants, attending career fairs for the purpose of providing information to students about possible opportunities with the commission and providing administrative support to the commissioners offices when needed. Due to my status as an intern I have been afforded the opportunity to work in many different areas in the human resources division. I am gaining very valuable experience that has given me a set of transferable skill that would benefit any organization.

I work as a consultant for the Veteran’s Choice Program where it is our duty to service our veterans by assisting them in receiving medical attention in a timelier manner. This position entails educating the veterans as well as all other parties involved, research and scheduling, as well as auditing all medical documents and processing them for payment. Alone I am responsible for over $200,000 in payment to all providers as well as 30 plus appointments on a weekly basis. I am also responsible for keeping the veterans, Veterans’ Administration staff and providers updated on the status of their medical authorizations and billing needs.
