My first experience being a computer person was when I was 12 years old and nearly set my house on fire. As I was exploring how to change the RAM of an archaic IBM computer, sweat dripped down my forehead and fell onto the computer's motherboard. The popping sound followed by the smell of smoke was enough to convince me that I couldn't let these computers get the best of me! Since I was 12, I've continuously repaired, destroyed, and experimented with technology/software to understand how they work—cracking passwords, hacking wifi, DOS'ing networks, creating malicious/legitimate websites, or building silly broken robots using schematics. All legally, of course. ;)As a Senior Engineer, I frequently serve as the escalation point for critical issues and establish healthy relationships between our clients. I'm capable of quickly learning new technologies with minimal training because of my understanding of the OSI model. My specialty is email and web security, and I also build custom scripts/tools to assist with my job.Network analysis is a passion of mine. I enjoy reading and analyzing packet captures. I'm familiar with tcpdump and have a solid grasp of Wireshark. One of my favorite challenges is solving problems by searching for deviations between working/non-working network traffic. Outside interests include working out, learning Japanese, solving puzzles, cooking, playing guitar, Christian ministry, and studying the Bible. I recently completed a B.A. degree in Biblical studies and have decided to continue my studies towards a Master's.
