I was working on synthesis, characterization, and applications of Nanocrystals (NCs). I designed custom parts using AutoCAD 2007 for experimental optical measurements. I performed research on novel materials that can be synthesized into NCs, designed and performed experimental synthesis. I wrote LabVIEW programs to record data from equipment during NC synthesis and I designed and maintained research group websites. I characterized photoluminescence (PL), quantum efficiency, and lifetime of NCs using a spectrofluorometer. I characterized absorption of NCs using a spectrophotometer, and hydrodynamic size using dynamic light scattering (DLS). I also characterized NCs using x-ray diffraction.

I was working in the characterization laboratory of the Microsystems and Engineering Sciences Applications (MESA), Micro Electronics Development Laboratory (MDL). I was responsible for but not limited to the characterization of MEMS devices such as Optical Programmable Array Logic (OPAL) and Miniature Integration of MEMS Electronics (MinI ME). I also served as the interface for MinI ME production between the Central New Mexcio community college MEMS department and Sandia National Laboratories.
