Responsible for leadership and support, scheduling and assignments, professional development, program implementation, and evaluation of approximately 100 school psychologists. Collaborate with school administrators, families, local and state agencies, and community organizations to promote academic achievement, and positive social and emotional outcomes for all students. Special concentration is focused on programmatic needs such as school problem solving, data collection, monitoring and analysis, implementation of prevention and early intervention strategies. Use performance data and unit performance measures to develop professional development activities and appropriate supports for school psychologists in consultation with student services leadership. Coordinate and manage the activities of the Bilingual Assessment Team, a team of bilingual instructional specialists, speech/language pathologists, and psychologists. Collaborates with other local and state agencies and organizations such as health and human services, social services, and juvenile services. Represent the department on school system and county committees and workgroups.

Provide leadership, direction, and technical assistance to develop and implement the program of school psychological services in each local school system. Lead responsibility for the Youth Suicide Prevention Program. Support Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program. Develop school mental health programs.
