Data Storage Architect - Providence is the largest private employer in Alaska, Designed and implemented Providence Alaska’s data storage architecture, growing from ~1.5TB to over 400TB (at the time that was impressive); A member of the ProvTech Data Storage Team responsible for the entire data storage environment for Providence Alaska, supporting 4,000+ users, including SAN/NAS mounted Oracle databases, CIFS access for home/department directories, VMware, Boot-from- SAN/iSCSI servers. Provide architectural design and review to the other regions (OR, CA, WA). manage a ~1.5 million dollar storage server lifecycle budget, sometimes a lack of budget. NAS Subject Matter Expert for Providence Health and Services throughout all regions. Unix Administrator Member of the ProvTech Unix team with partial responsibility for the all Alaska Unix servers. Unix Team Lead: responsible for workflow management, problem escalation, process management, asset management. Data Center management: responsible for the Alaska datacenter, air conditioning, cooling, asset management, airflow, power distribution, and security access. Other: Windows system administration, DNS/DHCP administration, time services, in on-call rotation for Windows, Unix, data storage
